Hello, My name is Pat Daigle.I've been decorating cakes for 40 years now. I first started working at Murphy's Bakery in Port Arthur when I was 16 years old. A sweet woman named Vida Scott, took me under her wing and showed me the how to of cake decorating. I've been hooked ever since.
At Murphy's , cakes were done assembly style. One person iced the cakes, another did borders, someone else did roses. My responsibility was to border the cakes. Ms. Vida teased me saying that I reminded her of a race horse when I bordered around corners. I think she was hinting for me to slow down.
I appreciate the creativity that cake decorating has allowed me to enjoy, and the friendships I have made along the way. Not only has the art of cake decorating been an outlet of creativity, but it has been a source of income over the years. The Lord blessed me with a way to provide for myself and my daughter when I was single, and I am truly grateful for his hand on my life.
